Dan Kalb, a U.C. Berkeley graduate, has spent virtually his entire adult life as an environmental and clean energy advocate, policy analyst, progressive reformer, and community service volunteer. He knows how to analyze problems, vet solutions and get things done.

For the past nine years, Kalb served as the Policy Director at the Union of Concerned Scientists in California, where he worked to enact policies that are creating clean technology jobs. In 2009-11, he took a lead advocacy role in passing landmark legislation requiring no less than one-third of the state’s electricity to come from clean, renewable sources.

We need someone with the experience, determination and smart ideas to make Oakland an even greater and greener city.
