DAN KALB, a U.C. Berkeley graduate, has spent nearly his entire adult life as a public interest advocate, policy analyst, good government reformer, and community service volunteer. He knows how to analyze problems, vet solutions and work effectively with people toget things done.

As a Policy Director at the Union of Concerned Scientists in California, Dan worked to enact policies that are creating clean technology jobs. He also took a lead advocacy role in passing landmark legislation requiring no less than one-third of the state’s electricity to come from clean, renewable sources.

Dan has 10 years of volunteer community mediation experience—valuable skills to have on the Oakland City Council. Dan has worked on good government, civil rights and education issues as well. Dan Kalb currently serves on the Youth Leadership and Community Safety Strategic Planning Task Force for the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth.

As a Councilmember, Dan Kalb will be a champion for public safety, good green jobs, quality education for our youth, and responsible government.

We need someone with the experience, determination, smart ideas and a proven record of commitment to community service to make Oakland an even greater city.

DAN KALB will be a strong advocate and leader for our community!
